Professional Standards in Curatorial Practice - Phases in Organizing Contemporary
Art Exhibition
University of Arts, Belgrade, April 14th - 21st 2001
The program of curatorial seminars that we initiated in Belgrade in 2001
was titled Professional Standards in Curatorial Practice. The first seminar
had a general subject formulated as: Phases in Organizing Contemporary
Art Exhibition. Its objectives were professionalisation of young curators
from CEE countries, and development of regional cooperation in the field
of visual art. It consisted of a sequence of lectures and workshops with
the aim to foster development of joint project proposals by the participants.
In the course of the seminar they were introduced to some paradigmatic
theoretical approaches to curatorial practice, as well as many practical
operations necessary for making possible accomplishing the projects they
had a task to develop during the workshops.
