Professional Standards in Curatorial Practice II – Curating in Transition.
Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, April 19th – 26th 2002

The title Curating in Transition in general refers to the set of conditions, which effect the positioning of a curator within the framework of constant shifts of artistic, institutional, social and political paradigms. In particular the Seminar addressed the specific features of the region in question in which transition functions as a socio-political and economical process. On the other hand it made an emphasis on the role and strategies of curators regarding the system of relations in the field of culture and in cultural institutions. Starting from this issue as a point for debate, the young curators positioned themselves and practically responded to the problems of their practice through the exhibition that was conceptualized and elaborated on the Seminar and will be realized afterwards.
